Becoming a Skilled Clinical Medical Assistant

The focus of this program is to prepare you to assist within the medical environment in patient procedures and administrative duties with special emphasis on acquiring proficiency in the use of the electronic health record systems needed for today’s technologically advanced healthcare environment.

By the end of your program, you will have:

  • An LHWOC Clinical Medical Assistant Diploma after 24 weeks* of class and 4 weeks of externship
  • National Certification in Healthcare for Clinical Medical Assistant
  • A career for today and tomorrow

  • Course Length: 848 clock hours
  • Program Length: 7 Months/28 Weeks*
  • Externship Included: Yes
  • Class Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Externship schedules are determined by the site.

Get Real-World Experience

During the Clinical Medical Assistant program at LHWOC, you will complete a 4-week externship in an actual medical environment. The externship will prepare you to handle a multitude of situations that a Clinical Medical Assistant will encounter.

Prior to the externship, you are required to have a physical exam and a two-step TB test and provide proof of immunizations. Some externship sites have additional requirements such as drug screening.

Nationally Recognized Certification

As part of the program, you will earn your National Certification in Healthcare for Clinical Medical Assistant. Certifications show potential employers that you have the skills and level of knowledge to be an asset to the industry.

Life & Career Services Available to You

Another unique part of our program is that we will supply you with life services known as Wraparound Services. These services will be offered to you while in training and for another 12 months once you’re employed. Most services will be available on-site and include:
